Sometimes we walk through our marriages and never realize what is really love. I have always thought that love would be something that would withstand all things, get through the ups and downs, and be supportive of the other person in your life. I thought love was something that could be obtained from another.
Well, to answer what IS love, we need to find out what it isn’t:
1 Cor. 14: 4b-5 love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity
If this is what love is NOT, most of us are having a hard time loving our spouses. So what should love be? I challenge you to do two things: 1. CHOOSE to love your spouse despite whatever YOU think you don’t like. 2. Read the rest of this segment in 1. Cor 13 about love. Study it and meditate on what it means to you in your LIFE!
the lock on the door was created in the middle of a life where love was missing. God had me write the intimate moments, the times of loving and the times that had many tears, to help ME fall in love with my husband again. I had to choose to love again regardless of whatever!
I know what love IS!
